What is Lucid Remote Desktop?
Lucid Remote Desktop (previously named LucidVNC) combines the power and speed of TightVNC, a derivative of VNC,
with the convenience of Lucid's helper application. Lucid Remote Desktop eliminates any configuration by the end user.
How can it help me?
Lucid Remote Desktop immediately connects you to a Lucid consultant. We then diagnose any computer problem you may have.
Since we see what you see and share control of the mouse and keyboard, it's as if we're right there in your office or living room with you
... any time of day, any where in the world.
When the problem is solved, close the program and the connection closes. We only have access when you run the program.
How do I use it?
It is very easy. Just download and run it. There are no firewalls to configure and no programs to install. It is a one step process. If you have one of our CDs, just drop it in the CD tray. You will definitely want to describe your problem to a Lucid consultant, so please call beforehand (using the phone number provided for available consultants).
What are the requirements?
Currently, Lucid Remote Desktop runs on all versions of Windows from Windows 95 to Windows XP and Windows Vista. You will need an internet connection to contact us. If your connection is down please call us. We can help solve most networking problems over the phone.
This is amazingly simple! Can I license this for my company?
Yes, absolutely. If you are part of a company that provides support or demos to its customers, you may realize Lucid Remote Desktop is an ideal solution. Imagine offering instant access with a single download from your website or on media that you already distribute. Your clients will be impressed and amazed at your responsiveness and level of service! You can even brand it for your company! For more information, contact our sales department here.
Notes:
1Lucid Remote Desktop will not run automatically on your system. A consultant cannot access your computer using Lucid Remote
Desktop unless you click on the “Connect” button. This puts you in control of the remote session.
2Lucid Remote Desktop’s speed is dependent on your internet bandwidth. It works well with units that have either DSL or
High Speed Internet access. For clients using dialup, the user experience may be slow.
3If you are not already on the phone with a consultant and wish to initiate a remote session using Lucid Remote Desktop, please call the provided phone number next to an available consultant first. This is because a consultant must have his listening daemon open to receive your connection request. Failure to do so may result in a failed connection attempt.
